Parents United for Change, a group of COFI-trained mothers who are also a new branch of POWER-PAC Illinois, won bus transportation for 338 elementary school children!
Parents expressed concerns about unsafe walking conditions and began advocating for school bus transportation in their district a couple of years ago. Then, last year, they won school bus transportation for the district’s 200 preschoolers.
The East St. Louis Monitor featured their advocacy work and victory on the front page of the local paper.
Congrats to Parents United for Change who have made bus transportation possible to over 500 children in their district!
