COFI Food Ambassadors reach out to thousands of Chicago families this summer

The heat of summer did not stop COFI Food Ambassadors from getting the word out about the Free Summer Meals program through a partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Across three Chicago communities: Chicago Lawn, Woodlawn and Belmont Cragin, the ambassadors spoke with 3,517 families and found a total of 12,189 children. Nearly 45% of the adults they talked with had never heard of the program before. Great work to all of the teams!

COFI Food Ambassador and POWER PAC parent leader from the Hermosa community, Maria Toribio was featured in a Telemundo Chicago story about her own experience using summer meals and how she is now bringing that information back to her community.
