Elgin Leaders Susana, Esther, and Erika attended the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) public forum on August 7 to say “No!” to more gas rate increases. The forum focused on Nicor’s proposed gas rate increase. All three shared powerful testimonies during the forum against the proposed increase and called on the utility company to prioritize affordability for customers, especially as families see prices for everything from groceries to school supplies rise.

COFI-trained Parents Are Fighting for Economic Security for Families
COFI-trained parents in POWER-PAC IL’s Stepping Out of Poverty Campaign are working to decrease the racial wealth gap by advocating for and implementing policies that prevent utility debt and help put cash in families’ pockets.
