Way to go, Katrina! This week, she joined Protect Our Care – Illinois in Springfield to meet with legislators and share her Medicaid story.

Her story highlighted the administrative burden families already face to access Medicaid. The federal cuts to Medicaid and the implementation of work requirements will result in people losing their healthcare coverage. That’s why COFI and POWER-PAC IL leaders are urging Illinois legislators to support the Protect Our Care Illinois policy principles and progressive revenue options to fund healthcare.

“I’m calling on all elected leaders to do everything in their power to prioritize healthcare and build a thriving Medicaid program for current and future generations. We need to raise revenue to create a system where people won’t lose their healthcare. If people lose their healthcare, Illinois needs an additional safety net to keep people healthy, and the only way to fill this gap is by raising revenue.” – Katrina
