Los l\u00edderes de POWER-PAC, Rosazlia Grillier y Rosalva Nava, junto con la organizadora s\u00e9nior de COFI, Tracy Occomy, dirigieron un taller sobre el impacto del racismo en la seguridad financiera. El taller fue codirigido por el experto nacional Tom Shapiro de la Universidad de Brandeis.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Los l\u00edderes de POWER-PAC est\u00e1n comprometidos a abordar las crecientes brechas de riqueza raciales y de g\u00e9nero con su nueva campa\u00f1a de justicia econ\u00f3mica, S<\/em>saliendo de la pobreza.<\/em> Trabajando en estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n con el socio Illinois Asset Building Group (IABG), la agenda de cambio de pol\u00edtica inicial de POWER-PAC incluye:<\/p>\n

1) Acabar con los desincentivos para que las familias de bajos ingresos ahorren a partir de la eliminaci\u00f3n de l\u00edmites de activos para TANF <\/strong><\/em>(Asistencia Temporal a Familias Necesitadas) beneficiarios.<\/p>\n

2) Ampliar acceso a programas de ahorro para la universidad<\/strong><\/em>, comenzando con el programa Bright Start del estado de Illinois para que las familias inmigrantes y de bajos ingresos puedan participar f\u00e1cilmente.<\/p>\n

POWER-PAC y sus socios ya gan\u00f3 una victoria<\/u> en esta \u00e1rea, convenciendo al Tesorero del Estado de permitir que los inmigrantes con N\u00fameros de Identificaci\u00f3n de Contribuyente Individual -ITINs- participen en Bright Start!<\/em><\/p>\n

3) Aumentar la financiaci\u00f3n y los recursos para cursos de educaci\u00f3n financiera<\/em><\/strong>para ni\u00f1os y adultos.<\/p>\n

4) Asesorar y presionar a los City Colleges of Chicago para que ampl\u00eden los apoyos <\/strong><\/em>que facilitan la asistencia a la escuela de los padres de bajos ingresos (en particular, las madres).<\/p>\n
